Pioneering Lifestyle Centers. Shaping mixed‑use destinations. Delivering meaningful experiences.
The retail real estate industry continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace — and Poag Shopping Centers, operating under its legacy name and focused on hands-on property management, leasing and placemaking, is committed to staying a step ahead. Owners, tenants, and communities need an innovative partner with the experience, vision, and hands‑on approach required to lead an industry in transition. Poag is that partner.
Today, Poag’s full‑service platform emphasizes property management, leasing, marketing, placemaking, redevelopment, and selective development—delivering customized solutions tailored to each asset and market.
For more than four decades, Poag has created thoughtfully designed places that foster connection and deliver memorable experiences. Over forty years ago, industry visionary Dan Poag, along with former business partner Terry McEwen, coined the term “Lifestyle Center,” establishing an entirely new category of open‑air retail. Today, the lifestyle center and mixed‑use format remains one of the most sought‑after and resilient retail real estate models in the country — and Poag continues to be recognized as a national leader in this space.
A forward‑thinking approach to mixed‑use environments
As the industry shifts toward mixed‑use districts, Poag remains at the forefront by blending its expertise in placemaking, retail strategy, and guest experience with hands-on operations and asset management alongside integrated residential, office, hospitality, and entertainment uses. Our team’s collective background includes work on some of the nation’s most complex, large‑scale mixed‑use destinations.
Our partnership with JLL expands our access to industry‑leading national resources, strengthening our ability to deliver comprehensive solutions across leasing, operations, retail strategy, and advisory services.

Small Details. Big Experiences.
This guiding principle reflects our belief that the details — from the design of a public space to the tenant mix, events calendar, landscaping, lighting, and day‑to‑day operations — create the experiences that keep guests returning, build loyalty, support tenants, and generate long‑term value for owners.
Poag Shopping Centers remains committed to delivering exceptional environments that strengthen communities, support retailers, and elevate everyday experiences.
