Students and Local Artists Bring a Vibrant Mural to Roosevelt Collection
Chicago, IL – Students from the British International School of Chicago – South Loop teamed up with Rich Alapack, founder of We All Live Here, and the team at Roosevelt Collection Shops to create a striking mural that celebrates art, technology, and inclusion in Chicago’s South Loop.
From April through June, the students and partners collaborated on the mural design, discussing how to translate complex themes into a visually engaging public artwork. Each Friday afternoon, visitors to Roosevelt Collection could watch the students at work, tracing and painting the mural under Alapack’s guidance.
Unveiled in June to coincide with Pride Month, the mural features ultra-bright rainbow stripes that have quickly become a neighborhood focal point. The artwork has not only drawn attention from shoppers but also sparked conversations and social sharing, making it a centerpiece of community engagement.
